RUN4

Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026. RUN4 has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated cloud service. Audio, projects, settings, and diagnostics remain on the device unless you explicitly export or share them.

Audio, projects, and files

Microphone or audio-interface input is accessed only after iOS permission and only when you use recording or input-monitoring features. Recordings, imported audio, projects, presets, and exports are processed locally. Files and folders selected through the system picker may be referenced with security-scoped bookmarks stored on the device. RUN4 does not upload their contents. Removing a link does not delete the original external file.

Local diagnostics

The optional diagnostics feature records app version, generic device model, iOS version, session times, audio failures, dropouts, CPU or memory warnings, and technical event messages. It does not record audio or an advertising identifier. Diagnostics remain local, are bounded to approximately 5 MB, 40 sessions, and 14 days, and can be disabled or cleared under Settings > General > Diagnostics. Nothing is sent automatically. An export leaves the device only when you choose to share it.

Ableton Link and local network

When you enable Ableton Link, RUN4 communicates directly with Link-enabled peers on the same local network. Peers can receive the RUN4 peer name plus tempo, beat-phase, connection, and optional transport state. If Link Audio is enabled in Link Settings, RUN4 can also share a Mix and four post-fader track streams only with compatible Link Audio peers that request them. RUN4 does not use Link for advertising, tracking, analytics, or developer-server communication. Local-network access is controlled by iOS and Link can be switched off at any time.

MIDI, AudioShare, and AUv3

MIDI and Bluetooth MIDI data is processed for musical control and is not uploaded by RUN4. If you choose AudioShare import, the selected audio file is transferred from the AudioShare app and copied into RUN4's local storage. Third-party AUv3 plug-ins that you choose to load are separate extensions supplied by their developers and may be governed by their own privacy policies.

Support email

If you contact support, we process your email address, message, and any files you voluntarily attach to answer the request. Support mail is handled through Gmail; Google's Privacy Policy applies to that service. Messages are retained only as long as necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

Legal basis, retention, and deletion

Where the GDPR applies, local processing used to provide requested app functions is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Local diagnostics and support handling are based on our legitimate interest in app stability and customer support under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. System permissions remain under your control.

You can delete projects, recordings, imports, and diagnostics inside RUN4. Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to iOS backups and files you exported or stored elsewhere.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability, and the right to complain to a data-protection authority. Because RUN4 does not operate an account or backend, most app data is available only on your device and can be managed there. RUN4 does not perform automated decision-making or profiling and is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal data.

Website delivery

This static page sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party fonts, scripts, or advertising. The hosting provider necessarily processes technical request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested page, referrer, and user agent to deliver and secure the site. That processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The home page shows a still image of the RUN4 video manual. Only if you press play does your browser load the video from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment YouTube receives your IP address and browser data and may store information on your device; see Google’s privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent by pressing play, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Changes

We may update this policy when RUN4 or its legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For a specific request, use the support page.
